ANTIBODY PRODUCED BY THE IMMUNE SYSTEM THAT IS DIRECTED AGAINST ONE OR MORE OF THE INDIVIDUAL'S OWN PROTEINS - MANY AUTOIMMUNE DISEASES (NOTABLY LUPUS ERYTHEMATOSUS) ARE CAUSED BY SUCH AUTOANTIBODIES
Autoantibodies; Auto-antibodies

autoantibody

ANTI-NUCLEAR AUTOANTIBODIES
SS-A; Anti-Ro; Ro (antigen); Anti-SS-A; SSA/Ro; Ro/SSA; Ro antibody; SSA-Ro; Anti-Ro antibodies; Ro60
Anti-SSA autoantibodies (anti–Sjögren's-syndrome-related antigen A autoantibodies, also called anti-Ro, or similar names including anti-SSA/Ro, anti-Ro/SSA, anti–SS-A/Ro, and anti-Ro/SS-A) are a type of anti-nuclear autoantibodies that are associated with many autoimmune diseases, such as systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), SS/SLE overlap syndrome, subacute cutaneous lupus erythematosus (SCLE), neonatal lupus and primary biliary cirrhosis.
